WELCOME to the world of Aberfeldy Alpacas.

Our stud, Aberfeldy Alpacas, is located on a 200 acre property in picturesque Googong, just 11 km south of Queanbeyan, and a short 30 minute drive from the centre of Canberra.

We have over 10 years experience with the alpaca industry, and bought our first breeing alpacas    -   a three-in-one package comprising a pregnant female and young cria at foot   -   in 2004. 

Aberfeldy comprises predominantly native pastures, on which the alpacas thrive.  We run a mix of coloured animals, predominantly light to dark fawns, as well as white alpacas.  Our herd usually numbers around 50 animals at any one time.

From the start our focus has been on breeding high quality animals with robust constitution, and dense, fine fleece.  We strive to obtain the best stud sires and finest genetics in Australia. Our primary aim is continuing improvement in the fleece characteristics of our herd.  

While our long term goal is to run a herd of animals which produce a fleece clip of superb quality, we also offer a range of animals for sale. We have alpacas that would suit new breeders, as well as those who are seeking a quiet pet or herd guards for sheep/goats/poultry. For those entering the alpaca industry for breeding purposes, we can put together starter packages to suit a range of budgets.

We are always happy to provide advice on buying alpacas and all aspects of alpaca husbandry.  If required, we are happy to provide follow up services, including assistance with vaccinations, etc.

We have been active members of the Australian Alpaca Association since 1999 and encourage membership of this association to all our purchasers as a means of keeping informed on all matters alpaca.

Visits to Aberfeldy to inspect our animals are welcome by appointment.
